Health & Safety Advisor - North London
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits
A leading highways and civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support operations across multiple London boroughs.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate is essential for this position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive H&S professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and is passionate about driving high safety standards across highways, street works and civil engineering projects.
Working closely with operational teams and senior management, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, supporting compliance, and ensuring best practice is consistently delivered across live works.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, responsibilities will include:
Providing practical health & safety guidance and support across operational teams
Conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations
Supporting the development, review and implementation of RAMS and safe systems of work
Promoting a strong behavioural safety culture across all levels of the business
Assisting with investigations relating to accidents, near misses and service strikes
Supporting legal compliance processes and maintaining H&S records and registers
Working collaboratively with contracts managers, supervisors and site teams to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards
Supporting reporting on H&S performance, trends and emerging operational risks
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent desirable
Essential Experience
Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor position within highways, civil engineering, utilities or street works
Strong understanding of underground services, excavation safety and service avoidance
Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
Experience working around Temporary Works and associated controls
Experience reviewing and improving RAMS
Proven experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations

Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence essential
